YOUR PARISH COUNCIL
Overview
|
Your Parish Council is a non-political body, whose function is to discuss the community affairs of East Budleigh, Bicton and Yettington. However, bear in mind that the council can only do what they are empowered to do by law. Anything else, however apparently justifiable, is beyond the powers of the council.
The Parish Council comprises Councillors, elected by you, to represent the community together with a Clerk who manages the administration and finances of the council. A Councillor is there to listen to your concerns and bring those concerns to the attention of the relevant authorities. East Budleigh with Bicton Parish Council is funded by East Devon District Council. |
Meetings
|
Council Meeting dates can be viewed here. An Agenda is posted prior to the monthly Parish Council meeting and is available to view in the Agendas & Minutes Section. Typically an Agenda includes topics such as: planning applications, recreational facilities, footpaths, Drakes School, public conveniences, neighbourhood health watch to name but some. Meetings include an Open Session, when members of the public and county and district councillors can speak. Minutes summarising discussions are published prior to the next meeting.

Your Input
|
Your participation is welcome. Contact one of the Councillors listed to discuss any issues you have. Or attend a monthly meeting, either to listen to your Parish Council in action, or to speak during the Open Session - just advise the clerk of your intention to speak beforehand so it can be included on the agenda.
